Pasta is used in a variety of dishes, such as spaghetti with clams, but it needs to be boiled before using. This article shows how to cook the pasta by boiling.[1]
Ingredients
- 1 part (by weight) pasta
- 5-10 parts (by weight) water
Steps
- Boil the water. Put the water in a large saucepan and heat over a high heat until bubbles appear.
- Add the pasta. Put the pasta to the boiling pasta.
- Boil the pasta. Leave to boil until al dente. The time depends on the type of the pasta:
- 3-5 minutes: Fresh pasta
- 8-10 minutes: Most types of dried pasta
- 10-12 minutes: Thicker, shorter dried pasta.
- Drain the pasta. Pour the pasta into a colander and shake to drain any liquid.
- Finished. You can use the cooked pasta in a variety of dishes.
