Cam Patterson uses a standard style of IDM and Ambience that can be found amongst other artists of the same genre. Ambient music usually uses the instruments of Background Drums, Piano and other quiet instruments.
Background
He started his journey into the music world playing percussion for a band known as the Tawa Learners' Band, a small concert band located in Tawa, New Zealand. Once percussion slowly got boring, he moved onto the electronic keyboard and the bell lyre where he spent a bit more of his time in the Band.
After going to a New Zealand Air Force Band concert after being invited by his Keyboard teacher at the time and decided from that point onwards to play the cornet with the Tawa Learners' Band. As they didn't have any extra cornets laying around, they gave him a Tenor Horn for the time being. After spending time with the tenor horn he eventually got his hand on a cornet and joined the Porirua Youth Brass Band(PYB), junior band to Trust Porirua City Brass(TPCB) located in Porirua, New Zealand.
After a while at PYB, he eventually joined Trust Porirua City Brass as a second cornet and stayed there for 2 years before being bumped up to solo cornet where he is to this day.
